I say that to tell you about an experience I will never forget. By now you have probably figured out that this has something to do with traveling, Canada and Niagara Falls - true on all counts. Niagara Falls is still one of the most awesome spectacles our planet has on display for everyone to see and experience. If you haven't been, TRY TO GET IT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST! Words cannot express the beauty, power and tranquility intertwined to produce a scene fit for the gods. Simply breath taking!
In addition to being able to witness this marvel of our planet, with a bit of cash you can "meet and greet" Niagara Falls through a mutual friend - The "Maid of the Mist." The Maid of the Mist is a boat ride that takes you as close to the falls as you would probably ever want to be (in your right mind). I must confess that at first I was reluctant to take the trip - but nothing a few shots of tequila couldn't fix!
The boat itself has a capacity of a couple hundred people (give or take) - there are two levels and most rush to the second level because you get the best experience up top! Once we set off on our journey you could feel the excitement building as the falls got louder and her power became more and more evident. The mist of the falls would at first feel like a light drizzle and then more like a monsoon storm the closer we got. To see the falls is one thing - but to be next to her, to feel her power, to touch her, to be enthralled by her unmatched beauty - is an experience I will never forget.
It was like being next to the Creator. Just for a split second it was as if time stood still and for a fleeting moment you feel as if you have discovered the true meaning of life. Words can not express this out of body experience but one can tell you to go experience it for yourself! Now go! You'll be happy you did!

I agree! I had the pleasure of visiting a few years ago (the New York side). It was an AMAZING experience. I want to go back. Loved the Maid of the Mist...although I wondered why we needed those raincoats...we were completely soaked just the same. :-)
